The River Argideen
River fishing for salmon and sea trout on the best private stretches of the river Argideen. One mile of double bank fishing with 10 named pools and a mile of single bank fishing.
Argideen translated from Irish means Little Silver Stream. The river has one of the best wild, naturally reproducing stocks of salmon and sea-trout in the south-west of Ireland.
The river Argideen flows fourteen miles to the estuary at Timoleague and joins the sea at the renowned fishing village of Courtmacsherry. The Argideen is an acid river, draining peat bogs and marsh land north-west of Clonakilty.
