Lisselan Golf Club is one is one of the most challenging and picturesque of Irish golf courses to be played. A parkland course, Lisselan in Clonakilty is a nine hole golf course set on 80 acres surrounded by mature woodlands and with the Arigideen River flowing through. Each hole can be played twice, with two sets of tees at each hole; Lisselan certainly is a gem among the Irish golf courses.

Lisselan Golf Course was opened to the public in 1994 by Christy O’Connor Snr. A new extension opened for play in 2004. For the first ten years the course was available exclusively for green fees and gained much international acclaim with golf travel writers, sporting personalities and the general golf playing public.

In 2004, Lisselan Golf Club was formed with the course open to green fees and members,seven days a week.
The par 72 layout for Ladies consists of 4 par 5, 4 par 3 and 10 par 4. The par 73 layout for Gents consists of 5 par 5, 4 par 3 and 9 par 4 holes.

Club competitions are held weekly.

Lisselan in West Cork is possibly the only golf course in Ireland that features two trains on the course to bring the golfer from holes one to two and holes three to four.

The signature hole of the course is definitely the 8th. This spectacular green brings the golfer across and along the river into the scenic Lisselan Gardens with the French chateau style house as the backdrop.

In 1996 Lisselan Golf Course was voted one of the ten favourite courses in the Europe by Fore magazine and is perhaps one of the most famous golf courses in Ireland.
